Voice over IP (VoIP)

VoIP, or Voice over IP, is the process of transmitting voice communications across a data network (such as the internet) using the IP protocol. Moving your voice communications from traditional "switched" networks to VoIP has benefits that include lower total cost of ownership, support for the mobile office, improved redundancy, and easier recovery in the event of a disaster.
